This post by @stevelosh is part historical account of switching from Vim to TextMate (and back again) as well as some really awesome tips on turbocharging a stock Vim install using a short list of configuration options and plug-ins. If you’re a Vim user of any level (or if you’re curious what the big deal is), this is well worth your time.
